FANBASE has been present at SPORTCITIES 2025, the great meeting point for the ecosystem of sports facilities, innovation, equipment and urban transformation, held at Feria Valencia and aimed at promoting collaboration between institutions, companies and professionals in the sector.
In the framework of the second day, we started the day with the presentation “SPAIN IS SPORT: the future of sports facilities: sustainability, technology and new user demands”, where a key question for the sector was put on the table:
How are sports venues adapting to the demands of a more connected, aware and demanding user?
Participation of Luis Perez (Founder & CEO of FANBASE)
He participated in this round table, contributing his industrial and technical vision on the evolution of sports facilities, sharing the debate with national references in design, equipment and solutions for future venues.
The session was moderated by David Quijal Estruch (editorial director of YoSoyNoticia) and counted with the participation of:
-
Ignacio Mercado, Commercial Director – Mondo Ibérica and President of the Aragón Sports Industry Cluster
-
Luis Pérez Bellot, Founder & CEO – Fanbase Seating
-
Juan Manuel Sancho, Marketing Specialist – B2 Sport Group
-
Alberto Martin, Managing Partner – Euronix Sport
-
Gorka Iglesias Zabala, Technical Director – SDI Sportfloor
A key idea: sustainability as durability and efficiency
During the panel, Luis highlighted a very concrete and actionable approach to sustainability applied to product and installation:
“Sustainability is about being much more efficient in product durability. We prioritize making durable structures to avoid the recycling phase. If maintenance is light, we promote sustainability.”
A vision aligned with FANBASE’s commitment: to design robust, certifiable solutions that are built to last, reducing intervention, maintenance and replacements throughout the lifecycle.
SPORTCITIES 2025: Southern Europe’s major platform for sports facilities
The first edition of SPORTCITIES has kicked off at Feria Valencia as a key meeting point for the sports, urban and institutional ecosystem, bringing together institutional representatives, municipal officials, associations and federations, clubs, managers, technicians and companies with a common goal: to promote sport as a driver of urban transformation, social cohesion and economic impact.
The institutional inauguration highlighted the importance of creating spaces that accelerate the exchange of knowledge, public-private collaboration and innovation applied to active cities. And there was a particularly symbolic moment: the handing over of the baton from Valencia (host city 2025) to Valladolid, which will host SPORTCITIES 2026 on October 21 and 22.
